How are tooth coloured fillings fitted?
The procedure to fit a composite filling can be completed in a single visit to us. After an initial consultation, the dentist will:
- Numb the area if necessary - not every fitting will require an anaesthetic.
- Remove any decay, previous filling material or weak sections of the tooth.
- Prepare the area, which includes shaping the hole for the filling to be placed.
- Place the filling and cure until hardened.
- Check for comfort, a smooth biting surface and adjust if needed.
It's as simple as that. If you need any dental work completing and would prefer an invisible type of filling, get in touch. Tooth coloured fillings on side and back teeth are available to all of our patients and are not something the NHS offer.
